ANJUM ALDEN
Managing Editor
Anjum Alden is a freelance writer based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She spent her childhood in Karachi, Pakistan and then came to the States for college and has been here ever since. Alden graduated with a B.A. in English from Allegheny College and then did her M.A. in South Asian studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Studying about her own culture and literature gave her a new perspective on Pakistan and she truly started to appreciate the richness and depth of where she had grown up. She planned to do her PhD in South Asian literature and then decided against it choosing, instead, to venture out into corporate America.
Alden found a great level of satisfaction from working as a Project Manager in medical software for seven years. However, she felt stifled creatively and when she was pregnant with her second child, she quit her job and decided to stay home with her children and work on a new career (aside from caring for her two very active boys!)
Alden now is a managing editor of the www.PakUSonline.com website and is a regular blogger at www.lifeandidentity.blogspot.com. Writing is her passion and gives her the balance and creativity she desires as a wife, mother and writer.
